Let it snow!

Easton's first experience with playing in the snow!  He liked it until he'd start to crawl and get a white-wash all over his face!  He reminded me of the little boy in, "The Christmas Story" because he was so bundled up he could barely move!  Enjoy:

Gobble Gobble

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Ours was spent with Jake's family in Red Wing with a very sick child and a trip to the Emergency Room Thanksgiving night.  Easton was running a temp. of about 105.  He was burning up and would not break his fever with the Tylenol we were giving him.  Being ignorant, we just thought he was running a temp because he was teething.  My brother, quickly informed me that you do not have such dangerous temperatures because you're teething and we should bring him to the hospital.  Once at the hospital they admitted Easton to the Childrens Emergency Room and he got the "scooby doo" room.  Jake and I both think he'll hate scooby doo from this day forward after his experience in that room.  They took his blood and it was the most awful thing ever.  The lady doing it couldn't find a vein and poked him about 10 times (his arm is pretty badly bruised) - and they had to hold him down with pretty good force because he's so strong and wiggly.  His face was a shade of red I've never seen before and I was pretty sure his eyes were going to pop out of his head.  It took everything in me not to grab him off that table and hug him!  I thought after that, the bad part was over.  I knew they were going to do a chest x-ray but I had no idea what that entailed when giving a baby an x-ray.  They had him straddle this bar while he's sitting and then wrapped him in a plastic tube with his arms above his head...oh it's just terrible...then they made Jake and I leave the room.  What a traumatic night for our little guy.  All-in-all, they think he just had a bad virus or infection.  The fever broke for good Friday evening - but it was all pretty scary!

Friday evening we headed up to Aitkin, MN to have Thanksgiving with my Dad's side of the family.  We all stayed in a hotel Friday night to give the kiddos a break from so much time spent in their car seats.  Easton went swimming for the first time in a pool with his cousins, Stella and Gretta.  Of course, he loved it.  We knew he would with how much he loves the bathtub!  The pool was freezing (so being the  freeze baby that I am, I did not go in) so Jake swam with him.  But I can't wait to take him again when he's feeling 100% -- and with warmer water!  Then Saturday we had Thanksgiving (and Christmas) at my Aunt Diane's house - it was so great to see everyone!

So many things to be Thankful for this year... I'm especially Thankful for my sweet, adorable baby boy, my wonderful Husband and a great family!

Busy 8 month old!

Easton absolutely loves our pets, Charlie and Milly.  I'm not sure if the feeling is mutual but Charlie does really great with letting Easton pull on his collar, ears, paws etc...  Easton also has an obsession with Milly's kitty door that leads into the laundry room.  He will crawl all the way across the basement numerous times in a row to get his hands on this door.  Here are a couple of pictures with E and his pets :)

We didn't actually make it out trick or treating with Easton.  We were hoping he could go with his cousins but it just seemed a bit too cold to take him out since he has a cough and runny nose.  So, we dressed him up and handed out candy to the trick-or-treaters!  It was still a fun time!

We are having some MAJOR troubles with our daycare - I'm not very happy and will be searching for a new one.  Let's just say he comes home with hardly being fed and not sleeping.  Poor little guy.  I'm actually having a meeting with them this afternoon to see what's going on.  If anyone knows of any good and affordable daycares in the Burnsville area please let me know, I'm desperate!

Easton is growing up waaaaaaay too fast.  He's a crazy crawler and is on the go constantly!  We knew this was going to happen once he learned to crawl because he's been kicking those legs full speed since he was born (and when he was in my belly)!  He's starting to pull himself up and is able to stand holding on to something! His top 2 teeth have also poked through - so he struggled with eating and sleeping for about a week - but I think we're in the clear with that now... until the next tooth!
