7 months!

These pictures are a week late since our house was hit with some nasty sickness in the last week.  But we're all feeling great now!  Easton is officially on the move!  He has mastered the army crawl and is still working his hardest at the "normal" crawl - he can move an inch or two but then gets stuck!  He's also starting to pull himself up and can stand for a few seconds at a time! :) Lately he thinks it's absolutely hilarious when Charlie barks - I'm going to try and get a video of this because he just has huge belly laughs over this - it's great!

"Dada"

Easton has said his first "word" : Dada.  Although he doesn't say it much - we sure get excited when we hear it! :)

A few 6 month pictures that Mandy took - we're hoping to get a few more when he's not so tired:

Where has my baby gone?

First of all, for anyone who doesn't know - Easton's test results came back great!  At this point, they're saying he just has a big head.  We're so happy and relieved and thankful for all the prayers that were said for him!

I cannot believe how big and grown-up my little boy is getting!  It blows my mind!  He's going to be crawling any day now.  Here's a little video of him working on it.  (the quality is terrible because it's taken from my phone)

He's also working on getting out some words.  Nothing  that we can recognize yet but he sure is babbling away and trying!  He's also always laughing all the time!  The other night he would bust out a loud belly laugh anytime we'd say "mama or dada" to him.  He's just so fun!  I barely get to see Easton during the week now since I've begun working late again.  My heart just aches every night on my drive home knowing I don't get to see him much before he goes to bed (if he already isn't in bed).  I cherish my time with him on the weekends so much!  Auntie Mandy recently took some super cute 6 month pictures of Easton - I'll post them when I get them.  We're so lucky to have such a talented photographer in the family! :)

Loves to put his toes in his mouth - so funny!

Tired boy - learning to feed himself with Daddy

New Ducky bathtub - it even quacks - he thinks it's hilarious!

Kisses for the duck

Prayers for Easton

Easton had his 6 month check-up on Friday.  He has had rapid head growth in the past 2 months so he needs to get an ultrasound of his head this week (while he still has his soft spot on top of his head...otherwise he'd need a MRI) to check for fluid leaking from the brain - something called Hydrocephalus.  We ask everyone for prayers for Easton that he does not have this as it requires surgery and has the potential to cause permanent damage.  We have hopes that he just has a big head --- as he has since birth! Poor little guy has had way too many tests done for being so young.  Jake and I are worried sick and ask you to please say many prayers that our little guy is okay.  Other than that, his check-up went great and the doctor said he's doing great developmentally!    He's in the 90% for height and 50% for weight.  The doctor thinks his height is from his head growth.

It's hard to believe Easton is going to be 6 months next week!  Where does the time go?  It's so amazing watching him develop his personality and discover the world around him!  We just can't get enough of this little guy.  Jake and I both had busy weekends last weekend.  His Brother, Zach, got married and my Cousin, Kristen, got married and we were each in their weddings so we had to go our separate ways.  We really wish we could have been in both places at once, but since that's impossible, we had a great time at each of the festivities.  Congrats to Zach and Kelsey and Kristen and Adam and thanks for letting us be a part of your special day!

A few Easton updates:
  • He's now a tummy sleeper at night (scares us at times because about once a night he will be face down on the matress...or that's what it looks like through the video monitor... so we will go flip him over on his back and by the time we're out of the room he's on his belly again).  But, we're slowly adjusting.
  • Sleeps through the night pretty much every night.  (hopefully I didn't just jinx myself)!
  • Started eating baby food once per day ... he's loving sweet potatoes right now.  Jake tells him every time that it's okay if he spits it out (he can't believe he likes them).  :)
  • He still loves to grab onto people faces -- weird, I know ... but it's pretty funny/cute!  He just loves to grab anything in site, really.
  • Getting pretty good at sitting - but if his head starts to tilt back ... down he goes!
  • Still the happiest kid on the block.  I don't think there's a greater sight in this world than his smile! :)

Puppy love

Easton has a new found love for our animals...especially Charlie.  He will giggle whenever he sees him and reach out to pet (grab and pull his hair and ears) him.  It's so cute!  Thankfully Charlie is dealing with it great and lets him get away with it.

He's loving it!

Always petting Charlie

Daddy must be doing something intriguing.

I can sit!
