More changes are taking place at our house! I also got a new job as a middle school counselor for Minneapolis Public Schools. I'm very excited!!! No more working late nights! yahoo!! I'm feel so grateful and lucky that I got this position as school counselor jobs in MN are extremely difficult to get. Also, Jake started his new job this week and thinks it's going to be a great fit. Easton also moved into the toddler room full-time at daycare this week. Off to a bit of a rough start.. he napped for a total of 14 minutes on the cot yesterday. uuuufda! (I'm so minnesotan) He had a stomach bug a few days ago as well so that may have contributed to it. He is also starting to talk so much more! It's soooo fun because he's starting to repeat words we say. The words we can identify that he says are: mama, dad, wow, on, swing, shoe, keys, hot and today he said "bye" for the first time!
We had a pretty uneventful 4th of July week/weekend. Jake had the entire week off from work but it was so stinkin' hot out we weren't able to do much outside. We did find a great indoor water park and playground and Easton absolutely loved it. They had a water slide we could go down with him and I think we spent the majority of the time taking turns riding on that with him. He also liked to jump off the edge into the pool with us holding him, of course. We also went to Red Wing to see Jake's parents and finally got on the river for the 1st time this summer. The weather and high water has kept us from doing so until now (and having a child makes it a bit more difficult to make the trek too). Although, it was still so hot that we were only out for about an hour. Easton had a pretty good time. The water was nasty though so we made him play on the beach mostly. He would have spent most of the time in the water if we would have let him. And he hated his life jacket... I don't blame him... it's a terrible life jacket... we need to get him a more comfortable one.
Oh, and in other news Jake turns super OLD in a few days: 30!

Jake also dug up our back flower bed. It was so out of control and we have absolutely no time to up keep it so we decided to do away with it and now we have some nice grass growing.
