Last weekend we participated in the MN Brain Tumor 5K to help raise money for brain cancer research in honor of Eddie. Auntie Mary raised $3,500 and the entire event raised almost $150,000! Almost triple what this event brought in last year. Just goes to show how important it is to find a cure for this horrendous disease. It was not a beautiful morning for the walk. It down poured on us multiple times with some pretty high speed winds. It didn't effect Easton much and he recieved many copliments on his frog raincoat :) Raya also had a nice rain cover for the stroller which she also received many compliments on... although I don't think she had as much fun. She did great until the last half mile... then Jake and I took turns carrying her. She had enough of the stroller, rain and wind. Overall it went good considering the weather! Mary had us all over to the condo for a fun bbq afterwards! Easton always has so much fun playing with Stella and Gretta! He also learned how to arm wrestle and of course had to take on every single person there. Uncle Jake taught him some interesting tactics of spitting on your hands... thanks for that ;)
Easton continues to amaze people everywhere we go with his non-stop energy! Seriously, how does he do it? He's really starting to break out of his shell too. He's the extrovert of the family. He's definitely shy but he's a complete extrovert and thrives off of interacting with others. Jake and I are the type who need our quiet time and don't mind (sometimes prefer) to be alone whereas Easton ALWAYS NEEDS to be with other people and non-stop talking. So, this definitely throws us for a loop and we constantly need to remind ourselves that his personality is different from ours and it's VERY tough for him to have to play by himself or to not talk for 30 seconds. The other night during dinner he was talking to our neighbor Shelly as he ate dinner at the counter. The screen was on the door so she could hear but she was in her yard on the other side of the fence and he's trying to carry on a conversation with her.
Swimming and t-ball are going great. He's becoming a wonderful little swimmer and conquering his fear of the back float. He actually does it all by himself now! woohoo! He does wonderful at t-ball. He doesn't hit off of a T anymore - they coach throws it to the kids who are good at hitting.
We are really going to have to limit his TV/iPad use. Noticed a connection between him acting out and getting aggressive and using the iPad to watch movies and play games. Although if you turn anything into a race with him he instantly snaps out of his fit because he HAS to win at EVERYTHING! :)
