4 years old

Easton is the big 4 today!  The past 4 years have flown by!  We had his 4 year old well-check on Friday and there are a couple of things we need to follow-up on... hopefully none of them are serious.  He still has one of his tubes in his ear so we need to call the ENT and see if we need to get that surgically removed or if we should wait a bit longer.  We also need to go back in 3-6 months for a growth check-up.  His BMI was in the 90%.  He was 41 inches tall and 41 pounds - so he weighed a lot for his height.  But clearly Easton is far from fat as he doesn't have an ounce of it anywhere on him.  But the doctor said this could indicate  something else is wrong ex: thyroid or something.  Although when she was doing his exam she kept commenting on his abs and that most 4 year olds don't have a 6 pack and big thigh muscles.  She is guessing he just has a lot of muscle mass and they don't take that into consideration for a 4 year olds BMI.  But, better to be on the safe side - so we'll go back in a few months.  The doctor asked him if his mom reads to him and he said, "yeah and I can read too."  We had a few of the books with that he can read so he grabbed one and showed her.  She was very impressed.. couldn't believe he could read.

We celebrated his birthday with the Hemmah side over the weekend.  We went bowling in Red Wing. He has been wanting to go bowling for a long time and he absolutely loved it!  Not to mention he was pretty darn good at it.  He was so funny - he got so into it!  Unfortunately, on the way home his tummy hurt and he puked all over the truck.  Poor guy :(  He seems to be better now though (but now Raya is sick today with a fever).

Easton also started swimming lessons this past weekend.  We are taking a little break from soccer.  He did great at his first lesson.  We are going to a swim school in savage and right now he gets one on one attention.  It's great.  There's 1 other girl in his class but her Dad goes in with her so the teacher just spends all the time helping Easton.  What a great way to start learning to swim!  :)

I will do another birthday post with some more information on Easton but here are some pictures for now:
